The great story, titled “Group is helping women find their way in manufacturing,” heralds how WiM has managed to grow from just about 10 members to nearly 300!
Our director, Allison Grealis, explains the "huge, huge appetite " for the work of WiM - "a full support system for women in the male-dominated field of manufacturing."
McCafferty notes that employment for women in manufacturing has been declining since the recession. Despite that, the article discusses how groups like WiM are working to bring more women to the sector, reaching women online and through e-mentoring programs.
These efforts, McCafferty writes, combat the negative stereotypes about manufacturing and show women that the sector isn't simply an "old boys' club."
A special THANK YOU to McCafferty and Crain's Cleveland Business for helping us spread the word about WiM.
